tribal transition

Here's just a few pieces from next seasons collection, the eclectic mix of burnt orange and black leather with gold finishings, creates an autumn tribal theme. A lovely transition for fall. Those Ashish sequin pieces are definately on my wishlist! Swoon.

Here's just a few picks of jewellry from the vast new fashion range by Hed Kandi. We at UBER just adore those spike drop earrings, they are also about three inches in length, a real statement piece, which would add an edge to any outfit.

god bless american apparel

Shirts are big at the moment! Long sleeve, short sleeve, no sleeve...we cant get enough. Maybe it's the simplicity, the clean lines and flattering shape, suited perfect with tailored chino's or a leather mini, heels for chic or converse for geek...you actually cant go wrong.
The problem is finding the perfect shirt, after trawling the high street it seems their is a lack of quality shirts for women, yes, I'm aware there is an abundance of shirts in the likes of H&M but quality really matters when it comes to shirts, you want to look groomed not school girl.
Yet American Apparel never fails, there is a whole range of shirts with a quirky twist like the black micro-mesh button up long sleeve shirt or the sleeveless silk white shirt above, which also comes in a sheer material. After much debate I bought the white silk sleeveless version and teamed it with a black neck bow and tights as its long enough to be worn as a dress, the versatility is unreal, open over jeans and a tee, tucked into trousers, worn baggy over skinny jeans or as a dress with bare legs, the list goes on...
Divine.

this is england '86 attire

So this week, after watching two of the four part series This Is England '86 everyone at the UBER office are competely obsessed! For those of you unfamiliar with the series, it's a follow on from the British film This Is England, if you haven't seen it I insist you rent it NOWAside from the gripping plot and sharp northern wit, it's the skinhead/punk style that has got us entranced.

For me, it reflects that gritty British style which alot of young celebrities ooze at the minute, like Alice Dellal (a personal favourite-that girl is amazing), Pixie Geldolf and Agyness Deyn. The un-done rock/punk attire suited perfectly with cropped/shaven hair.

Yet, on a day to day basis, it wouldnt be practical to go full pelt with the skinhead look. So here is UBER's own adaptation of the skinhead persona, maybe braces over a tee, a bow tie with a buttoned up shirt, turned up skinnies with those BEAutiful Jeffery Campbell boots below, as opposed to skinhead must-have, Doc Martains.

What do you think, are you feeling the skinhead look?

winter warmers

Our anticipation for winter is over! It has finally arrived, yes like most, us at UBER love the sunshine, the warmth, the general elation of spirits through months May to August yet in the same breath nothing beats winter clothes. From cable knit socks, the baby soft leather gloves, beautiful furs to the endless layering! May I repeat LAYERING! Gone are the long hot muggy days were clothes are sparce and any ounce of makeup is sapped and smudged in the humidity, im not even going to mention holiday hair, need I go on?

So in the spirit of shifting seasons we have started looking for winter pieces, winter outer wear. Here are a few of the top picks.

preppy grunge...september wish list!

We at UBER are really embracing the back to school trends with this american preppy look. The rams skull ring, Isabel Marant jacket (swoon) and the Topshop boots really make the preppy look grungy, the leopard print bag teamed with this look really sets off the grey tones. Perfection.
Let UBER know what you think.
